These exclusive overnight getaways includes travel from Los Angeles to the region in vintage private railcar COLONIAL CRAFTS, a private catered dinner at Hearst Castle and special behind the scenes tour personally conducted by the Museum Director. Also included is lodging in a deluxe ocean-front hotel in San Simeon, and a short wine-tasting tour prior to reboarding COLONIAL CRAFTS in Paso Robles. National Parks of the West,
October 17 - October 25, 2013
Save the Date! This unique 10-day Amtrak special train using vintage private cars is sure to please! On our journey we’ll visit some of the most spectacular parks in the western United States. Our home base for this remarkable journey will be our sleeping cars, and our train will get as close to the parks we’ll visit as it’s presently possible to get by rail.
There are no ups or extras here. We’ll provide it all from the moment you arrive at Union Station in LA until we return 10 days later. Nightly lodging will be aboard the train, so there’s no packing and unpacking along the way.

Byways of California and Oregon,
June 4-9, 2013
We will run a unique tour aboard a special train of vintage private cars that will appeal to all rail-oriented travelers. This trip will be limited to a maximum of 45 guests, all of whom will have deluxe overnight accommodations aboard our special train. We’ll provide it all from the moment you board the train in Emeryville until we return 6 days later.
On the first day, we will depart Emeryville. Our tour route includes Sacramento, the former Western Pacific route to Keddie, Westwood, Klamath Falls, Chemult, and Bend, Oregon. We will travel the length of the Deschutes River Canyon where much of the way we will not be paralleling any roads. From the confluence of the Deschutes River with the Columbia we will head to Portland on Union Pacific's tracks on the south side of the Columbia River. From Portland we will travel to Klamath Falls and then on to Emeryville and home.
Along the way, we will tour by motorcoach Lassen Volcanic National Park and Crater Lake. The spectacular scenery we will see includes the Keddie and the Deddie Wye, the Deschutes River Canyon, Mount Shasta, Castle Crags, and the Sacramento River Canyon. And best of all, our train will travel only in daylight, allowing us to admire scenery not seen on scheduled passenger trains.
